Shadow casting

My day started off pretty bad when i receive this phone call with an irritating voice. My day just dropped a notch! But thanks to Maiko Takeda, suddenly i feel so inspiring to see such fresh idea coming from this accessories designer. Her new collection titled "Cinematography" works just like one of those shadow-cast-story-telling booth that you will see in the circus! They are made of pierced metal, causing the motif/design to be casted on the wearer. So can you imagine that the motif/design will move around your body depending on the angle of the light!

Was going through some of the pictures i have in my com, too bored...and i saw these pictures that i took back in Jan 2007. Looking at it again the windows are still very refreshing or maybe is just me that have a thing for Anthropologie. This is a "must-visit" store when ever i'm in The States. I managed to cover 2 stores and they both carry the same theme for their windows but different interpretation. It started snowing when i took it!

Can i have a ticket to Paris?

Prada just opened a pop-up store in Paris!! Located in Place Beauvau and is a tribute to Mirabeau Bridge. You can see the trompe l'oeil detailing of the bridge applied through out the store and layered with other elements like velvet, marble, bronze and mirror. Quick, buy me a ticket! You have 5 months time!

Animal Song in black & white

I really admire what music director Alex Turvey & Nathan Ernest Hewitt did for the music of Cheatahs. The whole video set was hand drawn by Nathan, which is also one of the band member and ended up a 2-D friendly-animal-in-the-woods set. Add on with special computer effect and limited room space that they have to build this set, the video turn out really great.

Sculptures & Shoulders

Dazed & Confused August issue - Karen Langley was inspired by an 80's sculptor cum fashion designer cum artist Maria Blaisse (she does some real amazing stuff!) and put together a shoot with the help of Gary Card & Jason Kibbler. What is interesting is Gary Card is an set designer himself therefore many of the pieces worn in the shoot was made by him! Check out the spikey skirt, very Lady GaGa-ish, which he is creating some for her vavavoom outfit.
