Black is the new CDG

Well, that's what Rei Kawakubo did by lauching a diffusion line name Black for Dover Street Market due to the ailing economy. Prices ranges from £50 - £400. Sometimes i just feel that after all recession is not a bad thing coz you tend to get better bargains.

Despite i do not know how to swim, do not have the bods for swimwear, do not like guys with broad shoulders but i juts cant help myself checking out Monclear Gamme Bleu SS10 show. It was indeed a different way of putting up a fashion show without having high-budget-in-your-face props.

The show started of with hunky models/swimmers covered with white robe and black goggles. As the music starts they strip themselves into their trunks and dive into to the olympic size pool that in-sync with the music. at the same time some remaining models parted their rope and show-off the latest SS10 collection at the edge of the pool.

Mind my lack of apprection towards mens sportswear but the collection is nothing to shout about but the presentation makes you want to stay till the show is over.

Putting pieces together

Has been working all day "putting pieces together", literally and Timothy James Andrew's collection just reflects on me. Despite my work is not as avant garde as his but his all new AW 09/10, "A-BLOCK-A-BRICK-TOE" is like piecing Legos (i love Lego) together to form a wearable that you definitely make people stop for a second glimpse but for me, i wanna own it!

According to him he was inspired by Apocolypto, the Aztec geometric shapes, Transformers and 60s sci-fi in there too. The patterns from the classic computer game Tetris became his inspiration for the crystal patterns on some of the pieces. Look closely as some of the pieces are beads and not prints printed on!

Tim Burton's Wonderland!

This is something to really look forward to. But wayyy forward. Only available in May 2010!! Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland will feature the usual suspects like Johnny Deep as the Mad Hatter and Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen. This time you will get Anne Hathaway as well to play the White Queen and 19 years old Aussie actress Mia Wasikowska will be Alice. I'm sure this whole movie will be super infused with CG but definately an eye candy! Can't wait.

Peter Marigold

The Palindrome series was created for the Designers of the Future award exhibited at Design Miami / Art Basel 2009. The furniture focuses on the phenomenon of symmetry with each piece comprising of half mould and half cast.

A series of linking tables made using leather from FENDI production laminated on to sheet metal.

The elliptical kitchen table expands up to 3.7m long. The insertable leaves are the off-cuts generated from cutting the ellipse. Additional leaves can be added.

Square boxes, fastener & a square is always 360degree.

Thinly sliced tree logs to create folding screen.
