Another alien movie, that is the kind of perception that i have towards District 9. But after watching it, i have a 360 view towards this film. It is not so bad after all.
No one would ever guess that i will like it but, hey, it is pretty well done. It is captured in a documentary way and making you side the aliens instead of humans! You end up feeling sorry for them and hating your own kind for being so brutal and self-centered. But the best part is, it kinda makes you accept alien as an existence in the society where by they mind their own business and it is us that is causing all the issues.
Then again, it also reflects how unacceptable the society towards gay, lesbians & trannys. What more they are of the same species as us. What i'm trying to say here is that these "unacceptable kind" is just a way how the whole society modeled them. If in the first stage there weren't any discrimination, no one would probably find them weird or disgusting because after the movie, the alien is not that scary after all coz you have already build this acceptance towards them.
I'm not doing a debate over the whole sexual issue but this just came to my head after i watched it. I told myself that i want to put it in words on my blog.
Btw, District 9 was produce by Peter Jackson, more famously known for his Lord of the Rings.
